A real person, not a chatbot. Usually with a few clarifying questions, occasionally with "this isn't a fit, here's who would be."

If there's a fit, we book a 30-minute call.
No deck on our end. We ask you what's broken, what you've tried, and what would change if we fixed it. By the end of the call, you'll have a sense of whether we're the right partner.

If we're a fit, you get a real proposal within a week.
Fixed-fee, defined scope, "we shipped" criteria documented up front. If we're not a fit, we'll tell you who would be.
